Overview

Advertising and Public Relations is one of the fields of Mass communication. Advertisements are persuading us everywhere in everyday life. Advertisements are interesting, informative, and educative and also make us buy the ideas and goods. Public relations are other interesting areas of mass communication. The strategies of PR have been used in variety of fields today. These include government, non-government, private firms and so on. The main objective of the MOOC on Advertising and Public relations is to introduce the learners to the basic concepts, tools, campaigns, strategies, application and many more aspects of fields of advertising and public relations.  The course is spread over a semester with 4 credits weightage. Apart from the students of Mass Communication and Journalism, all the under graduate and postgraduate students of any discipline can register for this course.

Dr.K.S. Kusuma


Dr. Krishna Sankar Kusuma is currently working as a Sr.Assistant Professor at AJKMCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia. He teaches Communication Research,Theory, Performance media and South Indian Cinema at AJK MCRC. He has 14 years of teaching experience in the field of Mass communication. He is also in charge of the CEC-UGC Educational programme production, MOOC’s and ePathshala, Swayam Prabha (Channel-5) . He completed his Masters from Hyderabad Central University and his Doctorate degree from Jamia Millia Islamia. Before joining AJKMCRC he worked with CEDEC-NISWASS in Bhubaneswar, Orissa, Tezpur central university. He has also worked two years as Assistant Professor in the department of communication, Ministry of Higher Education, Oman.
