Overview

The course introduces the learner to  methodology of curriculum implementation and evaluation. Various techniques of managing and utilizing the resources will be dealt. Various ways of making the instructional  process effective by using appropriate instructional strategies, knowledge management and through active involvement of learner will be taught. Emphasis will be laid on proper planning and execution of project work, student-centered activities and developing strong industry-institute interaction for effective curriculum implementation. The course will acquaint the learners with various techniques of student assessment. Curriculum evaluation models and methodology will also be covered.

The course is meant for curriculum developers, implementers, administrators, teachers, and institute management representatives.

 

Total study time is 12 hours.  The course is of 2 credits.

A. B. Gupta


Dr AB Gupta is Professor and Head, Curriculum Development Centre at National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research, Chandigarh

He did BE in Mechanical Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engg. and Technology, Patiala in 1985.  He completed M. Tech in Rotodynamics from Punjab Engg. College, Chandigarh in 1992.He completed Ph. D. from Thapar Institute of Engg. and Technology, Patiala in 1999.

He has authored books titled “Manufacturing Technology” and  “A Handbook for Mechanical Engineers”. He is actively  involved in developing instruction material in the form of  laboratory manuals and video films related to the  area of curriculum development and Mechanical Engineering.

He has coordinated number of curriculum workshops for  designing and revising the curricula for various technical and vocational programmes at various levels.

He has coordinated and organized a large number of training programmes in the areas of curriculum development, implementation and evaluation for policy planners, administrators, Chairpersons and Members of Board of Studies and faculty of various universities and technical institutions
