The course titled "Innovation, Business Models and Entrepreneurship", is designed to give an in-depth understanding on various aspects of innovation, creativity, evolving business models, incubation and entrepreneurship. The course also includes sessions on blue ocean strategy and technology incubation which are proving as game changer in today's competitive scenario. Course also deals with role of IPR and IP management in innovation management. The course is a blend of theory and practice therefore this course does not require any prerequisite and will be useful to understand innovation and its applications in different spheres of development and growth.

INTENDED AUDIENCE: Students of M.B.A., M.Tech, M.Des.,Students interested in Entrepreneurship,Working Professionals who want to use innovation as a strategic tool.

Prof. Rajat Agrawal

IIT Roorkee
Prof . Rajat Agrawal is a member of faculty (Associate Professor) at Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Roorkee. He is also associate faculty member at Center of Excellence for Disaster Mitigation and Management and Center of Excellence for Transportation Management, IIT Roorkee. He administers various initiatives of IIT Roorkee in the field of IPR, incubation and entrepreneurship in different capacities. He initiated incubation centre at IIT Roorkee. He is cocordinator of Design innovation centre at IIT Roorkee. He is also IPR Chair Coordinator at IIT Roorkee. Dr. Rajat is a visiting fellow to Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen, Denmark. His area of interest is Production and Operations Management including Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Strategy and World Class Manufacturing. He has guided thirteen Ph D thesis in these areas and published papers in journals of Emerald, Sage, Springer, Taylor and Francis, Elsevier, and Inderscience. Currently, ten students are working under him for Ph D thesis. He has more than 90 research papers in refereed journals and more than 25 research papers in refereed conference proceedings. He has developed more than 20 case studies on various aspects of supply chain management, organisational development, natural resource management, social entrepreneurship, and value co-creation. He has developed more than 15 programmes for All India Radio on various subjects of rural development and technical, management education. He has completed 10 research and consultancy projects. He was also involved in some of the international projects funded by Danish Innovation Council and European Union. He has more than 200 hours of corporate training experience with organisations like BHEL, THDC India Ltd., Power Finance Corporation Ltd., Syndicate Bank, Everest Industries, and Rockman Industries etc.


Prof. Vinay Sharma

Prof. Vinay Sharma has around 25 years of Experience, in the areas of Marketing, Rural Marketing, International Marketing, Business Opportunity Development, Market Development, Brand Development; IT enabled Services, Spiritual Orientation for Market Prosperity Development, Forest Bio residue based Energy and Teaching for past Eighteen years. One of his recent PhD projects, wherein he guided an IFS officer for developing a forest bio-residuebriquetting machine to develop a value chain for household energy generation for the forest users of North-West-Himalayan region is in the phase of implementation.Another PhD project is focused on developing the market prospects for the medicinal and aromatic plants of Uttarakhand. His recent book publication includes Masters Speak on Management Education in India, published by Bloomsbury India. He has been a Fellow at Copenhagen Business School, Denmark and has been guiding 13 PhDs, wherein 9 are awarded and a recent one has contributed a machine adopted by Government of India.Presently, working as anAssociate Professor, with the Department of Management Studies at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, Uttarakhand, he has a considerable experience of working with various organizations in the fields of Media, Information Technology and Social Development alongwith having worked with the largest read newspaper of the World. Vinay Sharma has been teaching Marketing and the allied subjects, at various institutions including IIM Lucknow, wherein he focuses on globe as a unified market, with a Blue Ocean perspective and spiritual orientation for market development. His association with several international bodies gives him a regular exposure to the international business scenario and emergence of the world as an integrated market. His areas of interests also include Poverty Alleviation and Rural Market Development through Business Development, Market Development and Technology wherein he has designed and proposed a specialized model recognized by the name Affordability for the Poor and Profitability for the Provider which, has been acknowledged at various platforms and published as a book by the same name. Further, he has contributed an Appendix on Rural Marketing in the 13th edition of Philip Kotlers Principles of Marketing. He is an associate and a member of the founding group of the Network of Asia Pacific Schools and Institutes of Public Administration and Governance constituted by Asian Development Bank in December 2004 and the Member of Editorial Board of the Journal of NAPSIPAG called Journal of Administration and Governance. He has been a founding HOD of Department of Management Studies of an Institution at Lucknow and also has been the Associate Dean of College of Management and Economic Studies, of University of Petroleum and Energy Studies at Dehradun where he was also the member of the prestigious Academic Council of the University, has worked with IMT Ghaziabad as an Associate Professor and as Dean Academics with IILM, Lucknow. He has published and presented around 85 papers, Chaired sessions at national and international platforms like Human Development and Capability Association annual conference-2016. He has developed and published 16 case studies based on primary research and has conducted more than 100 workshops, seminars, FDPs and MDPs also for CEOs and MDs. He has edited an internationally circulated journal and is a member of Editorial Board of Journal of Promotion Management and is also the member of academic and advisory councils and Board of Governors of prestigious institutions and bodies. Presently, his engagements include his contribution as Executive Committee member of Intellectual Property Rights Chair at IIT, Roorkee and working group member of Ganga River Basin Management Plan a pan IIT project.

The course is free to enroll and learn from. But if you want a certificate, you have to register and write the proctored exam conducted by us in person at any of the designated exam centres.
The exam is optional for a fee of Rs 1000/- (Rupees one thousand only).
Date and Time of Exams: 20 December 2020 Morning session 9am to 12 noon; Afternoon Session 2pm to 5pm.

CRITERIA TO GET A CERTIFICATE

Average assignment score = 25% of average of best 6 assignments out of the total 8 assignments given in the course.
Exam score = 75% of the proctored certification exam score out of 100

Final score = Average assignment score + Exam score

YOU WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A CERTIFICATE ONLY IF AVERAGE ASSIGNMENT SCORE >=10/25 AND EXAM SCORE >= 30/75. If one of the 2 criteria is not met, you will not get the certificate even if the Final score >= 40/100.

Certificate will have your name, photograph and the score in the final exam with the breakup.It will have the logos of NPTEL and IIT Roorkee.It will be e-verifiable at nptel.ac.in/noc.

Only the e-certificate will be made available. Hard copies will not be dispatched.
