Biochemistry & Molecular Biology

Biochemistry is the branch of science that explores the chemical processes within and related to living organisms. Biochemistry focuses on processes happening at a molecular level inside our cells. It studies components like proteins, lipids and organelles. It also looks at how cells communicate with each other.

On the other hand, ‘Molecular Biology’ deals with a wide scope of issues related with molecular and cell biology, including structural and functional genomics, bioinformatics, molecular immunology, etc. ‘Genetic Engineering’ is a part of molecular biology. It is the direct manipulation of an organism’s genome, using biotechnology. 

From this course learners will be able to understand about carbohydrates, lipids & vitamins. They will be able to discern the functioning of proteins nucleic acids & enzymes and comprehend about cell structure.

Learners will be able to understand about DNA & RNA and increase their comprehension about genetic coding. Learners will also be able to distinguish between DNA isolation in bacteria, plants and animals.

INSTRUCTOR BIO



Dr. Sheetal Bhasin is working as Professor at Department of Bio-sciences, Maharaja Ranjit Singh College of Professional Sciences, Indore. She holds a teaching experience of more than 20 years and research experience of more than 10 years. She is actively engaged in research on characterization, biodiversity, production of enzymes, primary and secondary metabolites from Actinomycetes. She has varied research publications and 47 conference presentations on production of bioactive compounds and enzymes by Actinomycetes at national and international level.
