This course is designed to help you understand the importance of Education in contemporary India. The course will define and describe the importance of Education, the philosophical and historical perspectives of education   and helps to understand the diversity and the diverse needs of the learners. We will also discuss about the contemporary issues and concerns related to education. The course offers and overview of different constitutional provisions, commissions and different acts related to education and special education, and considers the trends in education. This course will be beneficial to prospective teachers of general and special education stream, in-service teachers, special educators, teacher educators and sociologists. The insights you will gain from this course will help you approach teaching learning in a positive manner.

This course aims to deepen the understanding of Education in Contemporary India. The learners opting for this course will become eligible for academic credit, advance their career and apply in their field of specialisation.  This programme is delivered with practical examples with additional web resources. In addition, it has two interactive sessions.  Learners are provided with e- mail facilities for any query and clarification.
