Hello viewers. I would like to welcome you to register for the course on Accreditation for Diploma Engineering Programmes . My name is B. L. Gupta and it’s my pleasure to be the coordinator of this course along with my team Dr. Anju Rawlley and Dr. V. D. Patil. This course requires 40 hours of learning efforts from learners.  In this course we will use variety of instructional methods such as video sessions, e content modules, publish papers, NBA resource material, discussion and the like. In outcome based curriculum learning outcomes are stated, student centric teaching processes are designed and implemented to ensure the attainment of outcomes and there is a focus on continuous improvement in attainment of learning outcomes. Accreditation is one of the quality assurance approaches of educational programmes. In our country National Board of Accreditation i.e. NBA is a statutory body to award accreditation to engineering programmes. It was established by AICTE in 1994. It is now autonomous body from January 2010 for accrediting the engineering programmes . The NBA accreditation brings many benefits to different stakeholders such as students, employers, industries, parents, alumni, professional bodies, public at a large and other sister institutions. I would like to mention here some of the very important benefits of accreditation. Accreditation of the programmes is the mandatory requirement for starting new programmes and also to increase the intake for existing institutions. Accreditation is prerequisite for obtaining grants from various sources for various academic purposes like research, training, modernization and so on. In accredited programmes more and meritorious students will prefer to take admissions. Similarly pass outs of these programmes will get better placement and higher package and of course it brings continuous improvement in quality of education. NBA has evolved a transparent, accountable and credible process of accrediting engineering programmes. Now let us know the process of accreditation to be followed in the institutions. The first step is registration of the institution then submitting prequalifiers for accreditation,  next is filling e SAR and submitting it on the NBA portal then visit of evaluation team constituted by NBA finally declaration of results by NBA.

In this course you will learn through 14 modules, NBA documents, 89 video sessions, assignments and discussions. This course will be completed in 8 weeks of duration.
