The course on cyber security is an introductory course on the basics of Cyber Security, dealing with the different security models, cyber-attacks, cyber scams and frauds, the investigation mechanisms and cyber law. Learning the secure operations and the best practices are essential to protect each one of us from becoming the victims of cybercrimes. Fundamental knowledge is very much required to understand the current status of cyber world and how an individual or an organization or the government can safe-guard from the dangers in the cyber world.

Any body who is interested in this domain and also who wish to become certified professionals after taking an elaborate course on Cyber Security.

Instructor bio


Dr Padmavathi Ganapathi is a Professor in Computer Science having 31 years of teaching and 17 years of research experience. She has supervised so far 12 thesis in Computer Science in the Cyber Security domain and 5 more are presently pursuing research under her guidance.  She has more than 200 publications in the reputed journals and conferences at National and International level. Her areas of interest include Cyber Security, Real-Time and Wireless Communication. She is the life member of CSI, ISTE, ISCA, WSEAS, AACE, ACRS and UWA. Executed many research projects funded by AICTE, UGC, DRDO and DST worth more than 2 crores. Presently she is the course co-ordinator for UGC-SWAYAM-MOOC on Cyber security.


Course certificate

30 Marks will be allocated for Internal Assessment and 70 Marks will be allocated for external proctored examination
