Recommended on courses across the academic disciplines Philosophy of History of Literature has been accepted as the essential introduction to the area of literary study. The course begins by questioning what we understand by the term History of Literature followed by weekly modules of the course. This course encourages the learners to consider the relationship between literature from a variety of historical periods, contexts and theories. All texts taught in this course will be available in Hindi language only, obviously the intended audience will be the student having minimum qualification to be admitted in M.A. (HINDI) in Indian universities. The course deftly introduces:
• Key features of the ideologies and theories of history of literature. 
• The relationship of history of society and history of language to the history of literature. 
• Challenges to history of literature particularly in contemporary world.
• Issues of translation, manuscript, folk literature and dialects in history of literature. On completion of the course the learners will be able to: 
• Reflect critically on concepts of Philosophy of History of Literature and to develop an independent view of the subject. 
• Understand the continuities and discontinuities between literary traditions across centuries. 
• Explain literary tradition, trends and development chronically.

Dr. Prabhat Kumar Mishra 
 Assistant Professor
Assam (Central) University, Silchar.

Dr. Prabhat Kumar Mishra is Assistant Professor of Hindi at Assam (Central) University, Silchar. Since obtaining Masters degree in Hindi from BHU, Varanasi he has done well appreciated research being UGC, Junior and Senior Research fellow at JNU, New Delhi. For more than a decade he is teaching Post Graduate students and methodology courses to research scholars. Considering his academic achievements he was selected as inspired faculty by the university. He has regularly published research papers, articles and reviews in scholarly and popular journals of high repute. He has authored two books namely ‘Prachyavad aur Hindi Navjagran’ (2015) and ‘Hindi mein Kalidas’ (2016) and contributed a number of chapters in edited books. Delivered a number of invited lectures, presented papers and session chaired in national and international conferences. The book ‘Hindi Mein Kalidas’ was awarded as ‘1st Guru Jambheshwar Samman’ in Antarrashtriya Hindi Sammelan held at Moscow, Russia in June, 2018. In 2015 he completed a UGC- Major Research Project entitled ‘Adhunik Hindi Sahitya mein Kalidas ki Upasthiti’. He has been associated as Deputy Coordinator with the UGC – Special Assistance Program (SAP, DRS-I) entitled ‘Hindi Tatha Anya Bhartiya Bhasaon ka Antahsambandh’ awarded to the Department of Hindi, Assam University, Silchar. In UGC-Inflibnet EPG Pathshala also he has contributed a good number of modules. He is a member of the editorial board of research journals ‘Aaroh’ and ‘Ispatika’ recognised and listed by UGC, New Delhi.
